Nature-Based Therapy

Nature-based therapy is an umbrella term for several therapeutic approaches that incorporate nature as a key component of the therapeutic process. It is grounded in ecopsychology, and the belief that the reciprocal relationship between a person and the natural environment is a key component to wellbeing.

Research supports that interaction with nature:

  • Can increase cognitive functions like memory and learning

  • Improve emotional wellbeing

  • Decrease stress

  • Improve immune function
