Income-Based Counselling Program

The Woods Arts & Wellness was established as a not-for-profit organization to ensure everyone has access to the mental health resources and support they need, regardless of their financial situation.

Our charity status allows us to make this Income Based Counselling program available on a sliding scale for individuals who:

  • Do not have access to extended health care coverage (or other funding sources), and

  • Have a total annual household income less than $100,000.

Note:

  • The lowest rate for counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) is $60/session.

  • The lowest rate for a 1:1 music therapy session is $40, and home visits will incur an additional travel fee of $10 when outside 5km from our Delbrook location (North Shore only).

  • Counselling services below $60/session are only provided by counselling interns.

Under this program, Clients can access up to 12 subsidized counselling sessions, and may apply for one renewal of an additional 12 sessions. Those 24 years and younger can apply for two renewals of 12 sessions each.  Please note, all subsidized counselling sessions cannot be guaranteed and are subject to necessary funding being in place.

Rates are based on 0.1% of your total annual household income and the table above will help you identify your applicable rate.  While we rely on your honesty to inform us of your session rate, adults (over 25 years old) seeking counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) at $80/session or below, will require proof of household income.  This ensures we are able to offer the most access to services within our limited funding for this program.

Please send us an email at hello@thewoods.org if you have questions about this program, or are interested in booking an appointment.
